Why LED Downlight
Downlights are different from recessed downlights in that they are more decorative.
Downlights generally have three types: large (5 inches), medium (4 inches) and small (2.5 inches). There are two types of downlights, horizontal and vertical. The price of horizontal insertion is slightly more expensive than that of vertical insertion.
(1) Compact and high luminous flux. The power consumption is 1/3 of that of incandescent lamps, but the lifespan is 6 times that of incandescent lamps. The compact size of 175 is maintained, which suppresses the presence of lamps and creates a bright space.
(2) There are two kinds of reflectors, mirror and frosted. A mirror-like reflector that brings a sense of flickering, and a frosted reflector for the ceiling with moderate brightness.
(3) The sliding fixed card is adopted, which is convenient for construction. It can be installed on ceilings with different thicknesses from 3mm to 25mm, and the lamps can be easily removed during maintenance.

What is a downlight?
Downlight refers to a lamp with a screw base that can be directly installed with incandescent or energy-saving lamps. Downlight is a type of lighting fixture that is embedded in the ceiling.
This kind of invisible lamps embedded in the ceiling, all the light is projected downward, which belongs to the direct light distribution. Different reflectors, lenses, blinds, bulbs can be used to achieve different light effects. Downlights do not occupy space and can increase the soft atmosphere of the space. If you want to create a warm feeling, you can try to install multiple downlights to reduce the pressure of the space. It is generally used in hotels, homes and cafes.

Classification of downlights
(1) According to the installation method: embedded downlights and surface mounted downlights. 2. According to the installation method of the lamp tube: spiral lamp holder and plug-in lamp holder, vertical downlight and horizontal downlight.

According to the relevant standards of the US Energy Star certification, the aperture size of the downlight refers to the maximum distance between two points inside the light outlet of the lamp.

Material
The material of the downlight
(1) The maximum size of general household downlights is no more than 2.5 inches, and 5W energy-saving lamps are enough.
(2) LED downlights are only available in modern times and can be used as a substitute for ordinary downlights. The light is better than ordinary ones. The disadvantage is that if 1 or 2 light points are damaged, they cannot be replaced.
(3) There are also many kinds of downlight cover materials, such as iron surface, pure aluminum, die-casting and other materials. Generally speaking, iron-surfaced downlights are cheap, while pure aluminum and die-casting materials are more expensive, but more durable. Iron-surfaced downlights are mostly used in engineering, but it is recommended that downlights for home improvement use a cover that is not easy to rust.
The lamp cap of the downlight is a more important part, and the main material of the lamp cap is ceramic. The reed inside is the most important. There are two kinds of copper and aluminum. Good brands use aluminum to do it, and a spring is installed under the contact point to enhance the contact. The other is the power cord of the lamp holder. Good brands use three-wire wiring lamp holders (three-wire, namely live wire, neutral wire, and ground wire), and some will bring terminals. This is also a very basic method to distinguish good brands from ordinary brands.
Reflective cups are generally of two types: sand cups and light cups. The material is aluminum, which will not change color, and the reflectivity is better. Some small manufacturers will use plastic spray to do it. This new process looks good, but it will become dark or even black after a while. The identification method is to look at the neatness of the cutting place. The cutting of aluminum is very neat, and the spraying is the opposite.
Use Matters
Precautions for installation of downlights
(1) After unpacking the downlight, check whether the product is in good condition immediately. If there is a fault caused by non-human or the requirements specified in the manual, it can be returned to the retailer or directly returned to the manufacturer for replacement.
(2) Cut off the power supply before installation, make sure the switch is closed to prevent electric shock, and do not touch the surface of the lamp after the lighting is on. This lamp should be avoided to be installed in places with heat sources and hot steam and corrosive gases, so as not to affect the service life.
(3) Please confirm the applicable power supply according to the installation quantity before use.
(4) Lamp cups with high voltage (110V/220V) power supply should not work in the state of frequent switching on and off, which will affect its life.
(5) Install it in a flat place with no vibration, no swing, and no fire hazard. Pay attention to avoid falling from high altitude, collision with hard objects, and knocking.
(6) If it is disabled for a long time, the downlight should be stored in a cool, dry and clean environment, and it is forbidden to store and use it in humid, high temperature or flammable and explosive places.
